The Milliken Performance Solutions Business is under the leadership of Mr. Craig Long, Vice President and General Director of Milliken Performance Solutions. Craig reports to Joe Salley, President and CEO of Milliken & Company. Mr. Wayne Punch, Managing Director of Milliken Safety Way, and Mr. David Rowland, Managing Director of Performance Solutions, oversee these implementations in our clients. Mr. Phil McIntyre and Jeff Rosenlund head the Business and Client Development activities for the business. While Chris Glover, the Director of Milliken Performance Systems and Steve Meyer, Director of Client Engagements, are our clients key contacts and support. Laurie Haughey, Director of Education & Marketing is the key contact for our Training Seminars & Conferences.

Craig LongCraig Long
Vice President and General Director, Milliken Performance Solutions

Craig's seasoned perspective adds to the foundation of leadership for the Milliken Performance Solutions team. He began his career with Milliken at a manufacturing facility as an Industrial Engineer. Craig's real world experience, in addition to Industrial Engineering, includes Product Development, Account Management, Market Management, Corporate Education, Corporate Recruiting and Activity Based Costing. He furthered his career by running several industrial businesses before being promoted to Director of Quality in 1994. In 1997, Craig was promoted to Vice President of Quality and Milliken University, and then spearheaded Milliken & Company's implementation of Six Sigma in 2004. He has held leadership responsibility for all Corporate Continuous Improvement processes. Craig is a graduate of the Harvard Advanced Management Program.

Phil McIntyrePhil McIntyre
Director of Business Development, Milliken Performance Solutions

Phil’s career in both business leadership and manufacturing make him the right person to direct the business development efforts of the Milliken Performance Solutions Business. Phil successfully worked with and led several business units within Milliken & Company to profitable growth and financial sustainability. Prior to his business leadership roles, Phil led the Performance Products Division Milliken Performance System implementation, was Director of Cost Improvement where he was responsible for strategic cost reduction efforts, and also spent time as the Pursuit of Excellence Director responsible for integrating customer needs (and wants) with manufacturing and business capability.

Early in his career, Phil worked in four different manufacturing locations for Milliken & Company holding 5 different positions ranging from quality to production to cost. Phil credits this early diversity in job responsibility and scope as the beginning of his in-depth knowledge of continuous improvement, his appreciation for sustainable, empowered safety processes and systems, and the criticality of establishing the right financial metrics to drive the right behavior.

Phil holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University and a Masters of Business Administration from Wake Forest University.

Chris GloverChris Glover
Director of Milliken Performance System, Milliken Performance Solutions

Chris has been instrumental in growing the Milliken Performance Solutions business since 2008 when he became a lead practitioner. Prior to this role, Chris Glover spent the majority of his career as a leader in manufacturing for Milliken & Company. He was responsible for creating the Lean Model System at the Valway Plant in LaGrange, GA. He was also a plant leader at Elm City, one of the leading manufacturing locations within Milliken & Company. During his tenure at Elm City Plant, Mr. Glover led the plant to become the JIPM Sustaining Prize Winner. From 1992 until 2001 he worked in various roles from quality assurance leader to Milliken Performance System leader at the Elm City location, honing his skills in auditing, project management, cost management, leadership development and lean enterprise facilitation. Recently he has spent much of his time sharing his instructional knowledge with clients looking for improvements in lean and operational performance. Mr. Glover holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA. Mr. Glover and his wife live outside of Atlanta, Georgia where he is a volunteer for the Red Cross and United Way organizations.

Steve MeyerSteve Meyer
Director Client Engagements, Milliken Performance Solutions

Steve has been involved in the development and growth of the business since its inception in 2007. As a production and plant leader at 6 different locations within the manufacturing operations of Milliken & Company, Steve’s strengths include leadership development, instructional design, process improvement, performance facilitation, cost management, project management and process management. Steve’s wide range of manufacturing experience and location management and his 20+ years of employment at Milliken & Company give him the expertise he needs to manage client expectations. Steve is EIT and JIPM certified instructor. Mr. Meyer holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, IN. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jeff RosenlundJeff Rosenlund
Director of Business Development, Milliken Performance Solutions

Jeff joined the Milliken Performance Solutions business in the spring of 2011. His diverse career assignments during his 30+ years with Milliken & Company include leadership roles in change management, manufacturing management, business and product line development, and project management. Jeff’s assignments have been at three different manufacturing locations, in three operational divisions as well as in corporate support. This ‘portfolio’ of assignments gives him a broad perspective that enables him to relate to clients who are facing a wide range of business challenges.

Although he most recently served in the position of Director of Change Management focusing on Milliken’s global SAP implementation, the majority of his career has been spent in manufacturing leadership assignments. He was Plant Leader & Manufacturing Manager at Magnolia Finishing, Milliken & Company’s largest plant, for 7 years where he was responsible for overall plant performance in safety, cost, quality, environmental, and associate morale. He also utilized project management skills as he led a major, 4 year long, equipment modernization effort at the plant. Early in his career Jeff held multiple positions ranging from shift and department leadership, quality assurance, process improvement leadership, and plant manager roles at another of Milliken & Company’s plants.

In additional assignments Jeff has successfully partnered with manufacturing operations to introduce many new products as he led product development efforts in both textile and chemical businesses. He led a team of engineers and scientists who supported R&D and customer technical service activities during a time of very significant product line growth in the Plastic Additives business. Jeff holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University.

Laurie HaugheyLaurie Haughey
Director, Education Services & Marketing, Milliken Performance Solutions

In 2010, she started Milliken as Director, Education Services & Marketing after a 21-year career at Clemson University. Previously she was Director of Professional Advancement and Continuing Education at Clemson University where she designed, organized and marketed training offerings on an array of executive education and manufacturing excellence topics. Early in her career she worked for Clemson University's Athletic Department where she functioned as Athletic Advisor to several teams including football. She initiated LIFE LINE (Leaders In Football and Education,) a peer leadership group promoting player-to-player support, community outreach, service learning and charitable giving. She is the author of Athletes Off the Field: A Model For Team Building and Leadership Development Through Service Learning. Also, she contributed “Five Standards of Excellence Practiced by Ethical Leaders,” a preface to Marlene Caroselli’s The Business Ethics Activity Book published by the American Management Association (AMA) and "Steadily Breaking Through Barriers: How Milliken Improves Performance and Innovation" for Industry Week.

Wayne PunchWayne Punch
Corporate Director Emeritus of Safety, Health & Security,
Milliken & Company


Wayne’s vast experience in manufacturing leadership and the safety and health field provides a unique combination of skills that make him a natural to lead the Milliken Safety Solutions team. Upon completion of his Master’s degree in Chemistry at the University of North Carolina, Wayne joined Milliken Research Corporation. Wayne later moved from Milliken Research to enjoy a successful manufacturing career as a Plant Leader, Manufacturing Manager and Director of Manufacturing in multiple manufacturing locations within Milliken & Company. Wayne has spearheaded Milliken’s safety and health process as Corporate Director of Safety, Health and Security since 1991. Milliken & Company has been recognized as a leader in safety and health under Wayne’s leadership. Wayne’s reputation in the field of safety is widely recognized through his affiliations as a member of the National Safety Council Board, the OSHA VPP Association, and many other councils and taskforces. Wayne is also a Special Government Employee (SGE) for OSHA which enables Wayne to audit other companies for VPP “Star” certification and recognition.

David RowlandDavid Rowland
Corporate Director Emeritus of Milliken Performance System,
Milliken & Company


David is a world-wide recognized expert in the field of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). David achieved this status due to initiating and leading the global implementation of the Milliken Performance System for Milliken & Company since 1994. Working closely with the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance, JIPM, David lead Milliken to 56 different JIPM TPM Prize Awards. While David had worked with several Milliken & Company suppliers and customers in the implementation of TPM, it was David’s recognized expertise that led to the initial start of Milliken Performance Solutions. David has held positions of manufacturing leadership including production management, process improvement, human resources and plant management since joining Milliken & Company in 1971. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Clemson University and is a certified TPM Instructor through JIPM.
